The Spanish Riding School Vienna is the oldest riding school and the only institution in the world where classical equitation in the renaissance tradition of the "High School" has lived for more than 450 years and continues to be cultivated - which is also part of the immaterial UNESCO heritage of humanity. The Spanish Riding School originally served as equestrian training for the imperial family.

The Lipizzaners, the famous white stallions trained at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna and enchanted with their "white ballet" horse friends from home and abroad, are bred in the western Styrian Lipizzaner Stud in Piber.
